2012 Masquerade Celery Ball Recap

Creative Sanford, Inc. celebrated their major fundraiser, the 4th Annual Masquerade Celery Ball on Saturday, March 10th, 2012 at the Sanford Civic Center.  Wendy Wheaton was crowned 2012 Celery Queen.  Wendy and her court, Naomi Gonzalez and Birgitta Jorgenson raised an awareness for the Celery Soup performances with their wonderful, inventive fund raisers.

Thank you to all who attended and especially our sponsors and candidates.  You have contributed to the development of the ongoing productions of Celery Soup, Florida’s Folk Life Play.

This enchanting play is preserving the diverse cultural heritage of Sanford, Seminole County and Florida.  Funds from the Celery Ball enable Creative Sanford, Inc. to develop a new play to debut Fall of 2012.

Guests were greeted at the door with a hospitality beverage of Southern Spiced Bourbon Tea in a souvenir glass.

A group of community cast members entertained by singing original songs from Touch and Go, the inaugural performance.

New to the ball was the “Community Life Experience” silent auction.  Guests bid on spectacular packages that brought them exciting experiences within Sanford, Seminole County and Florida communities.

After dinner, guests danced to the big band sound of Then 2 Now.

Please hold the date for next year’s Celery Ball, March 9, 2013.  You won’t want to miss it!
